Concrete Swimming Pool Construction process
pRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION
Once you contact Empire Pools, our designer or the builder will meet you onsite to discuss your pool ideas and layout. This meeting is essential — it allows us to inspect access, take measurements, and understand the machinery needed for excavation.
We assess the ground conditions, soil type, existing retaining walls, nearby structures, and fences. These details help us recommend the best and safest position for your new pool, potentially saving you money and future issues.
We’ll also check for easements, stormwater or sewer lines, inspection pits, and service locations like Telstra boxes or mains power cables. These can impact where your pool can legally and safely go, especially in front yards.
After this, we’ll prepare a custom pool design and a detailed quote. Once you’re happy with everything, we’ll send you an online contract via Edocs. Once signed, your deposit invoice will be sent, and the next phase begins.
BUILDING YOUR CONCRETE SWIMMING POOL
We submit your design to our engineer, who prepares your official plans. Once completed, we forward them to our private certifier. After approval, our builder or pool supervisor will contact you to book a start date and walk through what’s next.
EXCAVATION
Excavation is an exciting stage — especially for the kids! It’s the first time you’ll see the shape of your new swimming pool carved out in your backyard.
It might look easy, but this step takes experience and precision. As soon as excavation is complete, we move straight into the steel frame.
BOX AND STEEL FORMWORK
Steel formwork usually takes 1–2 days depending on pool size. Our team bends and fixes steel reinforcement to match your pool’s shape, ensuring strength and durability.
